Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is pelvic floor physical therapy?

Pelvic floor therapy is a specialized physical therapy that treats dysfunction in the pelvic floor muscles. Pelvic floor therapy uses specific exercises, manual therapy (myofascial release, soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, etc.) and education to improve control, strength, and improve function, focusing on retraining the muscles to function properly.

In-home therapy offers convenience, allowing you to receive expert care in the comfort of your own space. It saves you time and eliminates the stress of traveling to a clinic, making it easier to prioritize your health.

We treat a variety of conditions, including pregnancy and postpartum issues, pelvic health concerns (like painful sex and pelvic pain), post-operative rehabilitation, and orthopedic conditions (such as back, neck, and joint pain).

We can treat you for the first 10 visits or 30 days following your evaluation, whichever comes first, without a referral. After, you will need a referral from a medical provider to continue with treatment.

Stephanie will:

  1. Review your review your relevant medical history and symptoms
  2. Perform a comprehensive physical examination of your posture, joint mobility, strength in surrounding areas and a internal and/or external assessment of your pelvic floor muscles
  3. Develop a treatment plan & provide education and treatment tailored to your specific situation/needs

Typically, each therapy session lasts about 60 minutes, allowing ample time for assessment, treatment, and questions.

We don’t accept insurance at this time. We are an out-of-network, cash based mobile clinic. However, you may request a super bill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

The number of sessions required varies depending on the individual’s condition and goals. After your initial assessment, Stephanie will provide a recommended treatment plan and frequency based on your specific needs.

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for easy movement. You may need to perform certain exercises or stretches, so it’s best to dress for comfort.
